Queens and New York City are currently facing the worst housing crisis in generations. Borough President Richards believes the only solution is to build our way out of it.

That’s why he’s allocated more than $16 million in direct capital funding for the construction of affordable housing across Queens and maintenance at the borough’s many NYCHA developments, while also leading efforts to build large-scale affordable housing at Willets Point, in Far Rockaway and on the Creedmoor campus in Eastern Queens.
Additionally, Borough President Richards has worked to guide major re-zonings of Jamaica and Long Island City, paving the way for the future construction of thousands of new units of affordable housing across both communities.
