QBP RICHARDS TO HOST WEBINAR ON APPLYING FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Webinar to take place on Tuesday, January 20 at 6pm
QUEENS, NY –The act of finding affordable housing can often be a confusing and confounding process for families to navigate. To educate Queens residents on how to navigate housing lotteries and ultimately secure a home, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development will host a webinar on how to apply for affordable housing on Tuesday, January 20 at 6pm.
The virtual webinar will take place via Zoom, and will specifically focus on helping Queens residents utilize NYC Housing Connect — the online portal where users can find and apply for affordable rental and homeownership opportunities across New York City. NYC HPD representatives will also take questions from attendees.
“Queens and New York City as a whole are in the throes of a generational housing crisis, but we’ve been tirelessly focused on building affordable housing all across the borough — having signed off on nearly 9,000 units of affordable housing just last year alone” said Borough President RICHARDS. “We want to make sure residents know how to find that housing, and I believe this webinar will be a vital way for neighbors to do just that. If you’re looking for a home you can afford, I encourage you to join.”
