QBP RICHARDS TO KICK OFF SECOND TERM WITH INAUGURATION CELEBRATION
Sunday, February 8 at 3pm at Queens College
QUEENS, NY — Following his successful re-election campaign last fall, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. will host a public inauguration celebration on Sunday, February 8 at 3pm in the Goldstein Theater on the campus of Queens College, where he will be ceremonially sworn into office for a second full term as Queens Borough President.
“The successes we have experienced together as a borough will resonate for years to come, and I could not be prouder of all that we’ve achieved in time since those first days of our administration more than five years ago,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “But with Queens confronting crises around affordable housing, equity and a federal government that is actively targeting our families, these next four years will ultimately shape the long-term future of The World’s Borough. The work to build a stronger, fairer Queens for all begins anew, starting on February 8. I hope to see you there.”
Doors will open to members of the public and the press at 2pm, with DJ Tam Jams providing entertainment as the theater fills. The program, emceed by Rachelle Antoine, will begin promptly at 3pm. Attendees will enjoy a diverse array of performances courtesy of Astoria’s Frank Sinatra School of the Arts choir, Jamaica’s Edge School of the Arts dance company and the musicians of Joe’s Academy of Music in St. Albans.
